Netflix for Android now supports offline downloads to a microSD card

Netflix is one of the best streaming services available today, but it burns through data quick if you happen to use it on the go. Thankfully, the service added support for offline downloads late last year, and today, that functionality is getting an enhancement on Android.

In the latest version of the Netflix app, the company has added support for SD card storage, allowing users to pick between the internal storage and a microSD card slot for storing their TV shows and movies offline.

Since our devices usually have fairly limited storage allotments, the added space can come in handy. Granted, many devices today, like Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices, don’t support an SD card, so those users won’t be able to take advantage of this new feature. It has been noted that devices with microSD card support can also download to USB flash drives, but that unfortunately doesn’t work on devices without a card slot.

To try this new functionality out for yourself, head over to Google Play and download the latest version of the Netflix app for Android.
