DIRECTV customers can now buy movies before they are released on DVD or Blu-ray

DIRECTV is kicking off their new electronic sell-through service with The Lego Batman movie. This new service allows DIRECTV customers to purchase movies up to 2-4 weeks before they are released on DVD or Blu-ray disc. Customers of DIRECTV, the AT&T satellite TV service,  will be able to choose from an initial offering of over 800 movies and TV episodes. By the year’s end, they expect to have thousands of titles to choose from — all available in HD and even 4K for select content. Obviously, the most exciting part of this is the early access to big Hollywood films.

The biggest downside would be that you must remain a customer in good standing or lose access to your purchased content. To browse and purchase content turn to channel 1100 with your Genie HD DVR. For a limited time, DIRECTV will get you started with a deal on The Lego Batman movie for $7.99 (regularly $19.00). There will also be a bill credit, up to $10 for your first purchase between 5/19/17-5/25/17 in celebration of this new service.

Don’t like being tethered to your TV for all of your entertainment needs? DIRECTV has you covered there as well. In the coming weeks, DIRECTV will add the ability to download and stream your content on your computer, tablet, or smartphone; untethering you from your TV and giving you the freedom to watch wherever you want.  For more information check here.
