In this weekly feature, we want to give our readers the opportunity to provide some point-and-click style input on some of the questions we have been pondering.
OnePlus has been a polarizing brand in the Android market the last 3-4 years. They’ve had some mistakes in marketing their products and some questionable hardware choices over the same time span. You could also argue that they may be a little quick to stop update support as well. But you could also make the argument that OnePlus has consistently offered a pretty solid smartphone for the price-range that hits sub-$500.
And that’s where some of the knocks of this year’s model really start to arise: cost. The base model is hitting the high-end of their previous pricing with $479 for 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM, while the Midnight Black model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will set you back $539. Both are still less than “flagship” devices from other manufacturers but may make some hesitant this year.
We want to know your thoughts. Did OnePlus miss their followers with an overpriced iPhone clone? Or do you still love what they are offering? Or do you think it’s somewhere in the middle? Hit us up in this week’s poll!
