Lenovo has just announced their Home Assistant Pack power by Alexa for their Tab 4 series of tablets. This transforms your Tab 4 8, Tab 4 10, Tab 4 8 Plus and Tab 4 10 Plus into a voice activated assistant with a screen. Once you slide your Tab into the Home Assistant’s docking station the screen switches over to the Home Assistant interface. Now visual information can be shared on the screen along with responses from the Home Assistant.

This includes your timers, checking the weather or your calendar, and more. All you have to do is ask and it will appear. Unfortunately, the Home Assistant Pack will not work standalone, which would have made it even more useful. In order to use it, you must have it docked with your Tab 4 Lenovo tablet. Weighing in at 300g the Home Assistant won’t add much weight to your tablet for when you carry it around.

The Home Assistant Pack also supercharges the sound on your tablet with a powerful three-watt speaker that can fill an entire room. This is in addition to the two far field microphones that can recognize your voice up to 3 meters away in any direction. Pricing and availability will vary country to country but the Home Assistant Pack is expected in October starting at $69.99 dollars.

This new Home Assistant Pack is in addition to two other accessory packs from Lenovo for the Tab 4 series. The Kids Pack that includes a blue light filter, shock resistant bumper, colorful 3M stickers, and built-in kid’s content. While the Productivity Pack is targetted towards teens and adults with a Bluetooth keyboard protective sleeve case. This integrates with the built-in productivity interface, which features a taskbar and instant app switching, support for multiple windows and optimization for mouse and keyboard operations.
