JBL’s new BAR series brings surround sound and detachable speakers to your TV

At IFA JBL took time to introduce four new sound bars with their all new BAR series. The BAR series offers the high-quality signature sound you’d expect from JBL at different sizes and price points to please a wide range of consumers. These new slender soundbars come in gunmetal to fit in with your home entertainment system and to look good while doing it.

Not only does the BAR series offer you different sizes, price points, and power levels to choose from but JBL is looking to simplify your home audio setup.  The BAR series offers three different ways to connect to your home theater via HDMI, optical, or the AUX port. Depending on what you select, that means you’ll have one less remote to lose since the BAR series can be controlled through the TV’s remote.

The BAR STUDIO, BAR 2.1, BAR 3.1, and BAR 5.1, as they are aptly named, include Dolby Digital sound processing as well as Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music. The BAR STUDIO the smallest and cheapest of the four offering virtual surround sound, for those on a budget but still want to enhance the sound of their music, movies, TV shows, and video games. While the BAR 2.1 and BAR 3.1 take it up a notch adding some extra power in the form a wireless subwoofer. The BAR 3.1 is even more advanced adding a separate center channel for better vocal clarity and 4K HDMI pass through.

The most impressive of the bunch is the BAR 5.1 soundbar. Providing you all the great features of the BAR 3.1 with 510 total watts of power and DTS decoding sure to fill up any room sound, and detachable rear speakers. That’s right, the BAR 5.1 is more than just your average soundbar. This flagship soundbar from JBL features true surround sound with two detachable battery powered rechargeable wireless rear speakers. The one downside might be that they will only last on battery power for up to 10 hours, but hey that’s long enough for a few movies. If you’d like to crank up the volume in your home with the BAR series they will be available starting in the Fall.
