Google has finally announced the launch date of their successor to the Pixel phones. Circle October 4th as the day to start drooling over the latest in Android, along with supposedly superb hardware. The news this time comes straight from official Google accounts via YouTube and Twitter. The video shows a clever play on Google Search surrounding people asking “What’s wrong with my phone’s battery, performance, etc.”

Reading between the lines, it seems that the newest Pixels will have another great camera, improved battery life and performance, and solid build materials. It looks like HTC will be making the smaller variant with LG handling the sculpting of the XL this year. Rumored specs are limited, but do include 64/128GB storage paired with a Snapdragon 835 processor. The video has links to a web page to sign up for updates, as well as a Twitter hashtag of #MadeWithGoogle to keep an eye on.
