Apparently, the flip phone is not dead as Cricket has announced the Alcatel QUICKFLIP flip phone is headed to their network. The Alcatel QUICKFLIP comes with a 2.8-inch display on the inside along with a physical numeric keypad. When closed up the secondary color display on the outside will display caller ID and notifications. The compact nature of this flip phone makes it easy to use one-handed, has long battery life, and keeps the screen protected.
The QUICKFLIP would be ideal for those who like to keep it simple and only care about calling or texting. However, it’s capable of much more such as reading your emails, browsing the web, checking your calendar, and listening to FM radio. There is even a camera with a dedicated button and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of extra storage. This phone may not appeal to many smartphone users but it is compact and will only set you back $29.99.
The ZTE Overture 3 is the second of the two new phones headed to Cricket Wireless. The Overture 3 comes in at $49.99 or free for customers who port in a number and offers a lot more smarts than the Alcatel QUICKFLIP. It features a 5-inch screen, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB of storage, and has a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB. There is also 4G LTE and HD voice support on the Cricket Wireless network and it comes with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
Both of these phones can be ordered online through Cricket Wireless starting November 10th just in time for the holidays. These both present interesting options if you’re on a budget or just don’t care for all the bells and whistles of more expensive phones.Source: Cricket Source: Cricket
