This year at CES 2018 Lenovo has announced the Lenovo Smart Display 8 and Smart Display 10. These displays are Google Assistant focused smart home devices built with voice-and touch-controls.
These displays can be considered as a rival to the Amazon Echo Show. It has Google Assistant built in, and will allow consumers to play their favorite music, watch videos on YouTube, map their trips with Google Maps, among other things such as video calls via Google Duo or viewing their photos on Google Photos.
You could think of the Smart Display 8 and the Smart Display 10 as an Android Tablet that’s always on, but who’s primary interaction is via voice. These devices will serve as a hub for your smart life, much like the Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home serve as an audio only smart hub control.
Smart Display 8
The Lenovo Smart Display 8 is the smaller of the two models that will be launching later this summer. This smart display has 2GB of RAM, a SnapDragon 624 Processor, and a HD 1280 x 800 display.
The Smart Display 8 comes in a portrait style, and is perfect for a nice visual assistant in your office or on an end table.
Smart Display 10
The Lenovo Smart Display 10 is the largest of the two models that will be launching later this summer. This smart display has 2GB of RAM, a SnapDragon 624 Processor, and a slightly better HD 1920 x 1200 display.
The Smart Display 10, however, comes in a landscape style, so the larger screen is ideal for setting on your coffee table in your living room or on your kitchen island.
Both of these displays will be released later this summer with the 8 inch model retailing for $199 and the 10 inch model for $249.00. The 8 inch model will come in grey while the 10 inch model will come in a Bamboo color.
