Lenovo’s affordable new Chromebooks and Windows laptops are designed for the classroom

Recently Lenovo announced that they are releasing three new laptops that are all geared to make an impact in the education market. They all feature unique features for all levels of schooling, have accessories to help the users, and come at a decent price. The new line includes the 100e (Windows and Chrome OS), 300e (Windows and Chrome OS), and the 500e Chromebook. Let’s assume the “e” denotes the educational focus.

100e Chrome/Windows

The 100e is the first of the line that offers the choice of either a Windows or Chrome OS environment. They both have rubber bumpers around the body or the laptop and include a water-resistant keyboard design. Reinforced ports and hinges make the durability of these laptops top notch for students as well.

The specs between each are slightly different though. The 100e Chromebook rocks an Intel Celeron N3350 and 32GB of storage. It also has 2 USB C and USB 3.0 ports. The 100e Windows, on the other hand, has the latest Apollo Lake Intel Celeron processor and 128GB of storage. Both laptops have 4GB of RAM, up to 10-hour battery life, and 11.6 HD displays.

300e Chrome/Windows

The 300e are upgraded models of the Lenovo line that again offer Windows and Chrome OS models. They feature Yoga-like 360 degree movements and touch support on their displays. With that, they are still rugged and enforced for students and teachers alike.

The specs between both laptops are more different than the younger series. The 300e Chromebook includes a MediaTek processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The 300e Windows consists of an Intel Pentium processor, 8GB of RAM, up to 128GB SSD, and only an 8-hour battery life. They both feature an 11.6 touch-enabled, HD display though.

500e Chromebook

The 5003 Chromebook is the highest end Chromebook in Lenovo’s new portfolio. Not only is it powerful, portable, and foldable but it also comes with a stylus pen that can be placed inside the device for storing. This Chromebook (along with the previous others) also has support for Google G Suite of apps and includes a Chrome Education license for IT administrators.

This new line of laptop should give the education market more choice on getting the right laptop for their users. Check out Lenovo’s website for more information on pricing and getting these for your school.
