RED Hydrogen One coming to AT&T and Verizon w/ the world’s first holographic display

2 min read

RED, best known for their high-end cameras, has been teasing us for awhile with their Hydrogen One phone featuring a holographic display. The good news is we know the release date is coming soon with AT&T and Verizon announcing the Hydrogen One will be available on their networks. The bad news is there is still no official release date. Instead, it’s still slated for a late summer release.

In case you haven’t been following along the RED Hydrogen One will feature a Snapdragon 835, headphone jack, dual SIM slot, 4500mAh battery, and a 5.7-inch “4-View holographic display.” Of course, the stand out feature here is the four view display that will make images appear 3D without any special glasses or headset, but it’s still largely unknown what it will look like in person. The phone also includes pogo pins for the addition of extra modules to extend the capabilities of the phone as a media creation tool.

Along with the release of the phone RED will be launching their Hydrogen network with exclusive 4V content including videos of games, music, and films from award-winning creators. After all, what good is a 4V display if you have no content to watch on it?

If you can’t wait to get a look then AT&T will have a live demo at AT&T SHAPE at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles, June 2-3. Register now for a chance to get a first look at the Hydrogen One before it’s official release.
