Razer’s laptop lineup has consisted of the smaller 13.3″ Blade Stealth, the midsize 14″ Blade, and the 17.3″Blade Pro. Now while both the Stealth and Pro laptops have received some cosmetic upgrades over the past few years, the Blade has stuck to its original design pretty closely, even while it’s internals have been continually updated.
But that all changes today: Blade just announced the redesigned Blade, which shows considerable improvement in quite a few areas over the previous model. First up is the screen. Now a larger 15.6″ screen, not only is it better for all your gaming needs, the bezels have been slimmed down quite a bit. It still has an aluminum body, but the design of it has been refined quite a bit to be more modern. The corners are now much more squared, the touchpad bigger and lacking distinct buttons.
So back to that screen: it’s not just bigger, but it also features a 144Hz refresh rate on some of the models, and it has 100% sRGB or Adobe RGB support. Plus, the highest configuration has a 4K screen built right in! Now, if you’re the type of person who likes to dock their laptop and work on an even larger screen, Razer has you covered there, too. Thanks to Thunderbolt 3, Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI, you can hook up three screens to your laptop — excluding the built-in display! Of course, there are other ports available, such as USB 3.1, a Kensington Lock, power, and a headphone jack.
For the internals, they all have an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 with 6 cores and 12 threads. On the graphics side, they start with the NVIDIA GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5 VRAM but the higher configurations have the NVIDIA GTX 1070 Max-Q Design with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM. For memory, they all have 16GB DDR4 RAM, expandable to 32GB. The storage options start with a 256GB M.2 SSD and go up to a 512GB M.2 SSD.
There’s lots more to this new laptop, and you can find all those details for yourself on Razer’s website, linked below. What’s more, the new Blade with the GTX 1070 is available to order today!
